This episode was awesome, the last scene made me misty eyed… Oh Spoilers ahead if you don’t want to know don’t click for more.
We start off the episode with Korra going Korra healing herself with waterbending and we start to see flash back. she then sees a hallucination of her in the Avatar state after she fought Zaheer.
We then go to a flashback of her leaving Airbender island and we learn that she was suffering with the pain for a while back.
Korra’s mother convinces her to go and see Katara so that she may help Korra get betters.
Katara works with Korra for several month helping her move her legs to an extent, but Korra has been receiving letters from her friends that make her feel left behind.
Korra begins to walk again with the help of Katara and sees Tenzin after a long time. She tries to prove that she is better with a firebending match, but she has flashbacks of her fight with Zaheer and loses.
She decides to leave the Southern Water Tribe to get back in the action in Republic City, but when she gets there she sees the hallucination and turns away.
After travelling around and changing her appearance she goes to the Spirit World. There she meets a group of spirits, though she refuses their offer to help, saying that she needs to figure it out on her own.
After following the spirit she enters the earthbending ring we saw he in the end of the first episode.
All the while in the present we saw a dog had chased away the hallucination and she followed it into the forest. There we see it was the spirit who offered to help her, telling her that she has to meet someone in the forest.
After fighting the hallucination again, she wakes up in a cave on a bed with an elderly woman talking to her. She knew who Korra was and it is revealed that it is Toph.God, this was a great episode, we found out most of what we were wondering with the previous episode and we didn’t have to wait half a season for it. I had heard before that Toph was going to be in this season, but I was expecting her more towards the end. I was extremely happy to see her and when she was talking to Korra it was so heart-warming. She says that she knew Korra in a previous life and say “Good to see you again Twinkletoes.” I almost lost my shit in public, it was awesome for the creators to do that and I was pleased to see it. We get a great look at the mental state Korra is in currently and what she had to overcome to see her in the state she is in. From the previous episode I thought Korra was in the ring as a form of redemption, but now we know that she it suffering from PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder). I thought that this episode was great and that this season is off to a great start.
