No Game No Life: But I like life

The Facts are These:

Siblings Sora and Shiro are inseparable, both in the real world and the game world. They are challenged by a mysterious player online and defeat him in a game of chess. After they defeat him, he asks them if they would like to be reborn into another world, they agree they it would be better and they are brought to the world of Disboard by the world’s god Tet. They work together to save the humans of this world from extinction so they can conquer the world and challenge Tet for the title of One True God.

When watching this show I thought is was going to be similar to a show like Log Horizon or Sword Art Online where they are Trapped in a video game. However, that was not the case, instead they were brought to an alternate world where there is no conflict and everything is solved the playing a game. This got me excited I thought this was interesting and decided to continue to watch it and I was not let down. The world looked beautiful and the brightness of the colours that you don’t normally see in anime was a refreshing change of pace. The characters were quirky and eccentric and they were interesting and fun to watch. Though the audience understands that both the main characters are going to win every game and this may get boring it is how they reach the conclusions as what makes the show fun to watch. This show is entertaining, though they end the show on a cliffhanger with us not knowing if they are going to get another season or not.

Shiro and Sora “The Rulers of Imanity”

Behind the Scenes:

The series is based on the light novel of the same name by Yu Kamiya. He previously did the character design on the light novel series The Dark Rabbit has Seven Lives which was also adapted into a manga, and anime series as well. The anime was directed by Atsuko Ishizuka who has also worked on MONSTER, Nana and Aoi Bungaku. The anime was written by Jukki Hanada who has also written on the series CODE-E, Steins;Gate and Robotic;Notes. The series was produced by MADHOUSE and licensed by Sentai Filmworks for distribution in North America. The opening song is “This Game” by Konomi Suzuki. Here it is for you to enjoy…

A Brief View of the World:

The world in No Game No Life is that of modern Tokyo when the god of the alternate world offers them residence in his world where everything in this world can be solved through games between each party. You can go from pauper to king with your skills in games.

I enjoyed this series, it was fun and the main characters were fun to watch. Even though you knew the characters were always going to win, it was fun to see the journey and how they figured out how to win.

This series is somewhat rewatchable if you want to watch the characters then it is rewatchable, but if you are going to be bored after knowing how the puzzles are going to be solved then it may not be for you.

Phi-Brain – For another puzzle series.

Death Note – For another psychological series.

I do not own any of the above used pictures and/or video they belong to their original creators, Yu Kamiya, and MADHOUSE.

The show was equal levels of smart and fun which made it really enjoyable. It really needs a second season.
