The Manga Shelf: Eureka Seven

The Facts are These:

Renton Thurston is the son of the Hero, Adroc Thurston, who passed away saving the world. He is tired of his ordinary life until one day the legendary LFO, Nirvash TYPEZERO falls onto his house. Out of this LFO comes the girl Eureka and with that their journey together begins.

The manga changes from the original story after volume one because you know, we can’t have one Eureka Seven story every iteration has to be different. Though this story is good and does not smear the name of the anime. There are differences like Renton being a genius mechanic and Eureka showing her love for him sooner in the story. Gonzy has a larger role in the manga than his role in the anime, which I enjoyed.

Behind the Scenes:

The series is based off the anime of the same name created by Studio BONES. The manga was written by Kondou Kazuma and illustrated by Kataoka Jinsei. The work they are best known for together are Deadman Wonderland. The series was published by Kadokawa Shoten and serialized in the magazine Shounen Ace in 2005, running for 6 volumes. The series was previously licensed by BANDAI Entertainment, though it is

A Brief View of the World:

The world of Eureka Seven is a world where the air is filled with a element known as Trapars. Using Trapars people are able to surf on the air using Lift Boards, KLFs or LFOs. The world is affected by an organism that is called Β Scub Coral, this organism causes damage to human civilization.

I liked the change in Renton's character for the manga.

This manga is short and gets across the thoughts and feelings of Eureka Seven. Though it does not have the time to develop the cast of characters beyond much, the manga is still a good adaptation of the original series.

It is short and worth a reread. The manga though not a retelling of the original series tells its own uniques and interesting story about Eureka Seven that ends somewhat on the same note.

Kurohime – For an interesting romance story that is fun to read.

Fullmetal Alchemist – For a great shounen series with a compelling story.

I do not own any of the above used pictures and/or video they belong to their original creators, BONES.

The manga is good, but I just can’t tolerate the anime mainly because of Renton’s seiyuu.
