Well, I had the rare opportunity to sit down and attend a question and answer session with the actor Manu Bennett. I thought what was better that releasing this Q&A session in a biography about him.
Born in New Zealand and later moved to Australia, Manu Bennett was born to a Bikini Model mother, singer father and a brother. Tragically though Manu Bennett lost both his mother and brother in a fatal car accident, which resulted in him falling into a coma for two weeks. Te Aute College in New Zealand which gives scholarships to gifted Maori students. Maori are a the indigenous Polynesian people of New Zealand, which his father happens to be part Maori. After the accident, his girlfriend at the time suggested that he start dancing, which he remarks as being an outlet to direct his emotions and overall lead to his survival.
Manu Bennett is famous for several large roles in popular shows and movies. He portrayed Slade Wilson/ Deathstroke in the CW show Arrow. He played the character Crixus in the Starz original series Spartacus and starred in the miniseries Spartacus: Gods of the Arena. His largest role thus far has been playing Azog the Defiler in The Hobbit Trilogy, based off the book by J.R.R. Tolkien. At this time Manu Bennett has not won an award for his acting skills, which is a shame.
Now here are my opinions on Manu Bennett. If you need someone to play the tough strong character, you look no further. Manu Bennett fits that character type perfectly and makes the role deeper. With the knowledge of his past and what caused him to begin acting, this man has experienced more in his life than most people. This can be seen through his acting ability and makes for an all around better performance. Manu Bennett is a great actor and I believe that he will go farther than he already has.
I recorded the Q&A session and I learnt a lot about him from it, he talks about his past and what got him into acting it was great to listen to and I hope you enjoy as well.
